Djokovic Yet to be Beaten in Beijing
Novak Djokovic continues on the ATP Tour despite turning 39 this year. He recently dropped out of the Top 10 for the first time since 2018.
The Serbian suffered a surprise first round exit to Mariano Navone at the US Open.
Djokovic is unbeaten in Beijing and he is showing why this week, beating Nuno Borges 6-3 7-6 and Bu Yunchaokete 4-6 7-6 6-2.
He was in trouble against Alexander Zverev but turned it around to get through 4-6 6-4 6-4, making it 32-0 at the tournament.
Medvedev Finding Form in Asia
Daniil Medvedev won titles in Brisbane, Dubai and lost the final in Indian Wells but couldn’t match those achievements on clay and grass.
He failed to improve on the North American hard court swing, ending with a straight sets defeat to Frances Tiafoe in the US Open fourth round. He won the Hangzhou Open last week, defeating Andrey Rublev in the final.
The Russian has been on fire in Beijing, defeating Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4 6-2, Jan Lennard Struff 6-4 6-3 and Francisco Cerundolo 7-6 6-3. He has saved 6/7 break points in China.

Verdict
Novak Djokovic was unfancied against Alexander Zverev but showed why he has never lost in Beijing. Daniil Medvedev deserves a lot of respect here but it seems like Djokovic saves some of his best tennis for this tournament.
