Osaka Battles Through to Another US Open Second Week
Naomi Osaka secured her place in the second week at the US Open after defeating Elise Mertens in a tight three-set battle, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. After losing an early lead in the second set, she trailed by a break in the decider but raised her level in the final few games to close out the match.
