Putintseva Brings a Difficult Run Into New York

Yulia Putintseva has played three events during the North American swing so far, with all of them ending without a main-draw win. Most recently, she suffered a qualifying defeat in Monterrey.

The 31-year-old reached the fourth round at the Australian Open and the quarterfinals in Iasi a few months ago. Apart from those results, however, she has struggled to produce anything notable at tour level this year.
