Canberra Raiders vs Cronulla Sharks NRL Betting Tips - Take the 1-12 margin in Round 4

In the upcoming clash between Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks, a tight match is anticipated, with both teams predicted to have a 1-12 margin. The Raiders have experienced a minor premiership hangover since their 2025 triumph, struggling in attack without Jamal Fogarty in 2026. The Sharks, on the other hand, are showing early signs of offensive struggles after scoring only 16 points in their last two games. With both teams' attacking potential under scrutiny, the game is expected to stay under 46.5 points, missing major offensive flair.

Canberra Raiders vs Cronulla Sharks Preview

Canberra Raiders have seen a 1-12 margin in 17 games since the start of 2025. I'm backing either team to win in that range and four the game to stay under 46.5 points.

  • 15 Raiders games in 2025 and 2 of 3 in 2026 have finished with a 1-12 margin.
  • Cronulla have scored just 16 points in their last 2 matches.
  • Canberra have scored just 16 points in their last 2 games.
  • Savelio Tamale scored a double last week against Canterbury

Head to Head

Cronulla have had the upper hand in this head to head battle in recent years winning four of the last five matches including a 32-12 victory in the finals last season.

The Raiders did have a nine-game stranglehold on the Sharks prior to the last five.

Four of the last five matches have gone under the game total.

Canberra Raiders' Minor Premiership Hangover

After taking out the minor premiership in 2025 the Raiders have had some sort of hangover you could suggest. Is it time for Canberra fans to be worried, not just yet.

The 40-6 drubbing by the Warriors in New Zealand wasn’t ideal, but Canberra led 6-4 at halftime and simply fell to pieces in the wet.

The slim 16-14 loss to Canterbury was respectable, but there are some early concerns about their attack and the young halves without Jamal Fogarty steering them around the park in 2026.

The Ethan’s Strange and Sanders do need to take a step and will need to prove themselves as controllers and creators if Canberra are going to be a force as they have the pieces around them with a strong young squad with potential flair.

Cronulla Sharks Struggling For Points

There were high hopes in the Shire to start the 2026 season, and after putting 50 on the Titans in Round 1 the Sharks looked dangerous, but that apparently is not the case and now Craig Fitzgibbon might find himself under pressure if he can’t get his attack in order.

Since crushing the Gold Coast, Cronulla have scored just 16 points in two games scoring once against the Panthers but more of a concern was the poor performance against the Dolphins last week were they scored just twice in a 38-10 loss at Shark Park.

Both teams were pretty even for most of the match but the Cronulla halves in Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall were unable to build any real attacking territory or pressure with just 22 tackles inside the Dolphins 20m.

The Dolphins defensive line looked tired in the second half and opened up the flood gates allowing the Dolphins three late tries to blow the game out.

Verdict

This game is predicted to lack attacking flair and can go under the 46.5 game total as a result. Take the winning margin of 1-12 to either side and for Savelio Tamale to cross for the Raiders.
