Penrith Panthers Flawless In 2026

It's been a flawless start to the season for Penrith. It's like last season's preliminary finals loss instilled a new hunger in the team and they are back better than ever.

The Panthers made an opening statement by avenging that prelim loss to Brisbane in the opening round, shutting the premiers out 26-0.

Ivan Cleary's side backed it up with a routine 26-6 win over the Sharks in Bathurst before completely dismantling the Roosters 40-4 last week at Allianz.

Parramatta Eels Back-to-Back Wins

The Eels come into this clash following back-to-back wins, but you can't really say they've had a good start to the season.

Parramatta were demolished 52-4 by Melbourne in Round 1 in a performance that highlighted clear weaknesses that are easily exposed by the elite teams.

Ever the enigmatic side, the Eels bounced back with a 40-32 upset win over reigning premiers Brisbane, showcasing their potential.

However, last week's 30-20 win over the Dragons wasn't impressive and I reckon most other sides in the comp would have made them pay in that second-half, but St George Illawarra's halves just don't have the creativity for points.
