Melbourne Storm vs Sydney Roosters NRL Betting Tips - Chooks to take down Storm

The upcoming NRL clash sees the struggling Melbourne Storm (just 4 wins from 12 games) take on the Sydney Roosters, who have won six of their last seven matches. The Storm face discipline and error issues, sitting 15th on the ladder after a poor run. In contrast, the Roosters are in strong form despite a recent blip, and are expected to bounce back and solidify their top-four position. Key players are expected to feature, and the match is tipped to be high-scoring, with Sualauvi Fa'alogo backed as a tryscorer for Melbourne.

Melbourne Storm vs Sydney Roosters Verdict

Storm have just four wins from 12 games and went down to the Bulldogs last week. I can't back them, even at home, with the Roosters backed to win this and bounce back from defeat in Magic Round.
  • Roosters have won six of their last seven games
  • Storm have lost eight of their last 10 games
  • Roosters have seen Over 48.5 points in five of their last seven games
  • Storm have seen 50+ points in two of their last three games
  • The last three meetings have seen 50+ points
  • Sualauvi Fa'alogo has scored 12 tries in 12 games this season - he's also been the first or last tryscorer in three games

Storm vs Roosters Head To Head

Storm have prevailed in seven of the last eight meetings between the teams, but the Roosters were dominant 40-10 winners in the most-recent clash.

Melbourne Storm Form - Problems Deepen

Just a tough season for the Storm - they continue to make cheap errors and their poor discipline is costing them.

Eight defeats from their last 10 games as left the Storm down in 15th spot on the ladder - and with the Origin period underway, it's going to be a massive mountain to climb if they're to mirror Penrith from last year and make a late surge towards the finals.

Melbourne suffered another collapse last week against the Bulldogs, blowing a half-time lead and going down 30-20 as they failed to build on their 13+ wins over the Eels and Tigers in previous weeks.

Sydney Roosters Form - Winning Run Ends

The Roosters come into this contest with a 7-3 record on the season and sitting in third spot on the ladder.

Overall, the Roosters have improved their own poor discipline and ball control that has plagued them over the last couple of seasons, but their's still chinks in their armour.

After a brilliant six-game winning streak in which they scored 30+ points in five, the Roosters were stunned 18-12 by the Cowboys during Magic Round. Trent Robinson will demand a response after last week's bye.

Storm vs Roosters Team News

Queensland Origin stars Cameron Munster, Harry Grant and Trent Loiero have all been named to back up and start for Melbourne.

Keagan Russell-Smith is a chance to come in for Munster, who missed some training sessions in the lead-up to Origin. Alec MacDonald replaces Shawn Blore in the starting team.

James Tedesco, Victor Radley, Reece Robson, Rob Toia, Lindsay Collins and Sam Walker have all been selected for the Roosters - but a final call will be made in the coming days. Billy Smith also replaces the injured Daniel Tupou in the backline.

Verdict

Storm remain in poor form - backing the Roosters to bounce back and consolidate their top four spot. Faalago can still cross for Melbourne.
