In their last meeting, Souths won 40-30, and the team has scored 30+ points in six consecutive games, averaging 37.2 per game. The Dolphins have been solid offensively too, and the match is expected to go over 54.5 points. The two teams served up 70 points when they met at Suncorp Stadium in NRL Round 1 and another high-scoring game is predicted in Magic Round at the same venue. Souths won that game 40-30 and a repeat victory is predicted for the Rabbitohs.

South Sydney have been one of the best attacking teams in the NRL over the past six weeks. They have scored 30+ in six straight and average 37.2 points across their last five games.

The return of Latrell Mitchell is the major team-list change. He comes back from a back injury and slots into centre, while Alex Johnston is out with a knee injury and Bayleigh Bentley-Hape comes onto the wing for his first NRL game of the season.

The Souths middle has also been doing enough to keep their attack in good territory. They average 1824.4 Run Metres over their last five games, and when they are getting that platform Cody Walker and Latrell have enough room to make the edges hurt.

Dolphins Form - Just Outside Finals Spots


The Dolphins have split their season since the Round 1 loss to Souths and now sit just outside the top 8. 

Their last two wins over Melbourne and Canterbury were strong, and coach Kristian Woolf has kept the same starting side that rolled the Bulldogs.

They are not short on strike. Isaako is in form, Tabuai-Fidow can turn broken play into points, and Cobbo has a strong Magic Round scoring record. The issue is that Souths are a different attacking challenge to what the Dolphins have just faced.

The Dolphins have averaged 26.0 points across their last five games, which is more than enough to keep the Over alive even if Souths control most of the game.

Latrell Mitchell returns from a back injury for the Rabbitohs and is named at centre. Alex Johnston is out with a knee injury, Bayleigh Bentley-Hape comes onto the wing and Jayden Sullivan is listed on the extended bench.

Kristian Woolf has kept the same Dolphins starting side that beat the Bulldogs. Oryn Keeley is added to the bench and Kurt Donoghoe is listed among the reserves as he works back from a hamstring injury.
