Alexander Zverev Form

Zverev had a positive Australian Open campaign. He served for the match against Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals but couldn’t close it out, going down in 5 sets.

The German disappointed in Acapulco, breezing past Corentin Moutet before a narrow 3 sets second round defeat to Miomir Kecmanovic.

Zverev beat 6-3 6-4 in his opening match in Indian Wells before getting past Brandon Nakashima 7-6 5-7 6-4, saving 4/5 break points. He was back on it against Frances Tiafoe, saving two break points in a 6-3 6-4 victory.

It was a more routine 6-2 6-3 victory over Learner Tien as Zverev progressed past the quarter-finals at Indian Wells for the first time.

Jannik Sinner Form

Sinner was on track to defend his Australian Open title before running into Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. He was on track for victory before going down in 5 sets.

The 24-year-old cruised into the quarter-finals in Dallas before a shock 3 sets loss against Jakub Mensik in the quarter-finals.

The World No.2 thrashed Dalibor Svrcina 6-1 6-1 in his opening match in Indian Wells and kept it going in a 6-3 6-2 victory over Denis Shapovalov.

He saved three set points in the opening set against Joao Fonseca, coming through to win 7-6 7-6, before a more comprehensive 6-1 6-2 victory Arthur Fils progress swiftly.

Verdict

Sinner has had Zverev's measure of late, winning the last five meetings. I'm backing the world number one to extend that record with a straight sets win
