Krejcikova, holding a superior finals conversion rate (8-5, hard court 5-3) and a 3-0 head-to-head dominance, enters as the slight favorite. However, Sakkari, cheered on by a home crowd and finding recent form, looks to capture her first title since 2023. Krejcikova Continues Resurgent Run

Barbora Krejcikova moved into the final after defeating Clara Tauson in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. She had the opportunity to close out the match in straight sets but was forced into a decider before sealing the victory.

The Czech slipped outside the top 50 after being limited by fitness issues and making only a handful of appearances earlier in the season. However, she has steadily rebuilt her confidence and form in recent weeks, with this run projected to move her back close to the top 30 in the live rankings.

Krejcikova has also reached the finals of the WTA 125 Parma event and Hertogenbosch, where she was forced to withdraw before the championship match due to injury. She also reached the fourth round at Wimbledon.

She owns an 8-5 record in WTA Tour finals, including a 5-3 record on hard courts. Her most recent hard-court title came in San Diego in 2023.

Sakkari Targets First Title Since 2023

Maria Sakkari secured her place in the final after defeating Alina Korneeva in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5. Despite dropping serve twice, she remained in control for most of the match to complete the victory in straight sets.

The Greek struggled for consistency and confidence following her semifinal run in Doha earlier this season, but she has shown encouraging signs in recent weeks with third-round appearances at both the French Open and Wimbledon.

This is Sakkari's first tour-level final in two years, highlighting the difficulties she has faced in recent seasons as she looks to return to the winner's circle.

Sakkari heads into this clash with a 2-8 record in WTA Tour finals, including a 1-7 record on hard courts. Her only hard-court title came in Guadalajara in 2023.

Verdict

Krejcikova has the stronger record and better conversion rate in WTA Tour finals, but this represents a golden opportunity for Sakkari to end her title drought. With the backing of the home crowd and renewed confidence, the Greek can edge this contest and lift the trophy this week.
