Croatian Completes Remarkable Turnaround
Donna Vekic defeated local favourite Katie Boulter 6-1, 6-3 to move into the final at Queen's Club. She did not face a single break point and won 92 percent of her first-serve points in a dominant display.
This has been a remarkable week for the Croatian. Earlier in the tournament, she lost in the final round of qualifying to Anna Blinkova but received a lucky loser spot in the main draw. She has made the most of that opportunity, reaching the final with wins over Marie Bouzkova, Karolina Pliskova and Boulter.
The 29-year-old endured a significant drop in form and results throughout 2025, which saw her ranking fall from inside the Top 20 to around the Top 120.
However, recent results, including a semifinal in Linz, a runner-up finish at the WTA 125 event in Istanbul, and this week's run in London, have helped her secure a return to the Top 50.
This is Vekic's first final since the Paris Olympics in 2024. She owns a 4-10 record in tour-level finals, while on grass she holds a 1-4 record. Her only title on the surface came in Nottingham in 2017, where she defeated Johanna Konta in the final.

Raducanu Earns Another Shot at a Title
Emma Raducanu secured her spot in the final after defeating Iva Jovic in straight sets in the semifinals in London, 6-2, 6-2. She lost her serve once and broke her opponent five times during the match.
This is the third final of Raducanu's career and her first at a WTA 500 event. After her US Open triumph in 2021, she had only one other opportunity to add a title to her collection, in Cluj-Napoca earlier this year, but suffered a disappointing 6-0, 6-2 defeat against Sorana Cirstea.
Before this week, she was on an eight-match losing streak against Top 20 players, but she has now recorded back-to-back wins over opponents from that group.
It is a welcome sign for the Brit, who reunited with her former coach Andrew Richardson just last month, the coach who guided her during her 2021 US Open title run.
Before the grass swing, injuries and illness had disrupted much of her season, and she struggled to build momentum. She had won multiple matches at only one of her previous eight tournaments, reaching the final in Cluj-Napoca. Now, she has put those struggles behind her and earned another chance to compete for a title.

Emma Raducanu has looked in excellent shape this week, picking up notable wins over two top-20 players and showing plenty of confidence in her game. Donna Vekic has also been performing at a high level and continues to rely on her vast experience in big matches.
