Barbora Krejcikova and Robin Montgomery will face off in the 's-Hertogenbosch final. Montgomery, a qualifier making her first WTA final after recovering from a wrist injury, has shown strong form, but Krejcikova’s experience and record in finals (8–5) make her the favorite. Montgomery has struggled against Top 50 players, while Krejcikova, a former Wimbledon champion, is reaching her first tour-level final since that triumph. Both players have overcome injuries, but Krejcikova’s consistency and big-match pedigree give her a clear advantage.

Montgomery Reaches Maiden WTA Final

Robin Montgomery reached the first tour-level final of her career after defeating Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4, 6-2 in 's-Hertogenbosch. She fired 11 aces and did not drop serve throughout the match.

Her run to the final has been particularly impressive. Montgomery has now won six matches this week as a qualifier, including victories over Daria Kasatkina and Daria Snigur in the previous rounds. It is also the first grass-court final of her career at any level.

This result marks a remarkable turnaround for the American youngster, who spent nine months sidelined with a right wrist injury and only returned to competition in April. Prior to this week, her only notable result in 2026 was a semifinal run at the WTA 125 event in Oeiras, with early exits dominating the rest of her season.

Before her injury setback, Montgomery broke into the Top 100 for the first time in 2025. A title this week would move her back inside the Top 200 and mark another important step in her comeback.

She has previously contested seven finals on the lower-level circuit, all of them at W60 level or below, making this by far the biggest final of her career.

Former Wimbledon Champion Back in a Final

Barbora Krejcikova secured her place in the final in 's-Hertogenbosch after defeating Magda Linette 6-3, 7-6. She trailed by a break in both sets but recovered each time to complete the victory in straight sets.

The Czech has enjoyed a relatively smooth path to the final. Earlier this week, she defeated Renata Zarazua, Hanne Vandewinkel and Elena-Gabriela Ruse in straight sets, never conceding more than five games in any of those matches.

Krejcikova has battled several injury setbacks in recent years. She returned strongly during the second half of last season, but a knee injury suffered in Beijing disrupted her progress and limited her opportunities to build momentum.

The 30-year-old had played only six tournaments before this week. Apart from her runner-up finish at the WTA 125 event in Parma last month, her other five events ended in early exits.

This is Krejcikova's first tour-level final since her Wimbledon title run in 2024. She owns an 8-5 record in WTA finals, with all five of her defeats coming against Top 25 opponents.
