Jakub Mensik vs Alexander Zverev Live Stream & Betting Tips - Zverev to Come Through in the French Open Semi-Finals
Alexander Zverev faces rising star Jakub Mensik in the French Open quarter-final, after both players overcame difficult matches in earlier rounds. Zverev boasts a strong record at Roland Garros, having won 30 of his last 35 matches here and maintaining an impressive form in 2026, though still chasing his first title of the year. Mensik, despite some recent injury concerns, has shown resilience and quality on the clay. Expect a tight contest, with Zverev tipped to win after another potentially long match. - Zverev has won 30 of his last 35 matches at the French Open
- The German needed 3 sets to get past Mensik in Madrid
- I am expecting Zverev to come through another close clash
Jakub Mensik is proving why he is one of the hottest youngsters in tennis. Alexander Zverev has dropped only one set at Roland Garros, but I think this one is going to go all the way.

Mensik Making it Count at Roland Garros
Jakub Mensik won the title in Auckland and was on target to break into the Top 10 after beating Jannik Sinner in Doha.
The 20-year-old began the clay court swing ranked 27 and was unable to get to a quarter-final in Madrid, Rome and Hamburg.
The Czech has shown his quality at the French Open, beginning with an easy win against Titouan Droguet. He then exited the court in a wheelchair after a 6-3 2-6 6-4 1-6 7-6 second round win over Mariano Navone.
It seemed like the intense heat would be his downfall against Alex de Minaur but he rallied to win 0-6 6-2 6-2 6-3. He was two sets up in the fourth round, letting Andrey Rublev back into the contest before coming through 6-3 7-6 4-6 2-6 6-3.
Mensik defeated Joao Fonseca 6-4 6-3 7-6 in the quarter-finals despite winning just 33% of his 2nd serves. He saved 3/5 break points while creating 21 opportunities to break the Brazilian, taking five of them.
He commented on feeling some pain in his leg during the contest: “Unfortunately, at the end of the second set I started to feel some discomfort in my left leg, which was irritating me during the serve.
“I was afraid of what (it was). Fortunately, it was just a tight muscle. Because of that, I dropped my focus a little bit. So that's why at the beginning of the third set was not how I wanted.”
Zverev the French Open Favourite
Alexander Zverev is still searching for this first title this year, continually falling short against Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. He lost his first five semi-finals, four of them against Alcaraz or Sinner.
The German reached the final in Madrid where he was battered 6-1 6-2 by Sinner, going down in 57 minutes. He went to Rome and failed to convert four match points in a fourth round defeat to Luciano Darderi.
The 29-year-old has been impressive at the French Open, beating Benjamin Bonzi and Tomas Machac in straight sets before a 6-4 6-3 5-7 6-2 victory over Quentin Halys.
Zverev got back to winning in straight sets, defeating Jesper de Jong 7-6 6-4 6-1 and Rafael Jodar 7-6 6-1 6-3. Both victories were wrapped up in under two and a half hours.
He talked about overcoming a slow start against the Spaniard: “It was very different conditions today. I had to find my rhythm.
“He was playing a lot better than me in the beginning, because he, I feel like, found his rhythm a lot quicker than I did. Once I did, I felt quite well on the court and felt like it was a good match from my end.”
Verdict
Alexander Zverev has a fantastic opportunity to win a Grand Slam but won’t be taking Jakub Mensik lightly. These players recently went the distance in Madrid, another long match on the cards at Roland Garros.
