Terence Atmane is unfancied here but has beaten three Top 30 players on hard courts since March. I can’t back Jack Draper as a short priced favourite due to another long layoff, an upset on the cards in Montreal.

The Frenchman made the transition back to hard courts in Washington last week. He beat 6th seed Frances Tiafoe 4-6 6-3 6-4 in the first round before a 6-3 7-6 defeat to Alejandro Tabilo.

Jack Draper Form


Jack Draper continues to suffer from persistent injuries, withdrawing from the Australian Open and Rotterdam Open. He returned to action in Dubai, losing to Arthur Rinderknech in the second round.

The Brit went deeper in Indian Wells, getting past Francisco Cerundolo and Novak Djokovic before a quarter-final exit against Daniil Medvedev. He lost to Reilly Opelka in the first round in Miami before taking a month off.

The 24-year-old withdrew from the Monte-Carlo Masters and a knee injury forced him to retire in the first round in Barcelona. He didn’t play another match on clay.

Draper came back at the Eastbourne Open where he eased into the semi-finals, beaten in straight sets by Ugo Humbert. He withdrew from Wimbledon due to a recurrence of an arm injury.
