In the upcoming Stuttgart Open, Mirra Andreeva is the favorite to win against Alycia Parks, given her impeccable form on clay. Parks, despite recent improvement and solid wins this week, struggles on clay and hasn’t beaten a top 10 player since 2023. Andreeva showcases strong momentum with a perfect 9-0 record against players ranked outside the Top 50. Her recent victory against Jelena Ostapenko further demonstrates her competitive edge. Parks Looks To End Clay Struggles

Alycia Parks moved into the next round in Stuttgart with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Noma Noha Akugue. It marks her third win of the week after coming through qualifying.

The American had a slow start to her clay season, winning just one match across two events, with losses to Iva Jovic in Charleston and Dalma Galfi in Linz.

Since the start of 2024, Parks has struggled on clay, failing to win multiple matches in any of her 15 events on the surface. She now aims to change that and reach her first tour-level quarterfinal on clay since Rabat 2023.

Andreeva Shows Fight In Comeback

Mirra Andreeva produced a stunning comeback to defeat defending champion Jelena Ostapenko 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 in Stuttgart. She trailed 1-4 in the deciding set before turning the match around impressively.

This marks her fifth consecutive win on clay this year. She arrived in strong form after winning the title in Linz, defeating Sorana Cirstea and Anastasia Potapova in three-set matches.

Before the clay swing, she had struggled with confidence after early exits in Dubai and Indian Wells, often finding it difficult to close out matches.

However, she now looks much more confident following her Linz triumph and is one win away from reaching her fifth consecutive quarterfinal on clay, continuing her strong consistency on the surface.
