Arthur Rinderknech vs Matteo Berrettini Live Stream & Betting Tips - Home Crowd Favourite to Advance at Roland Garros
Arthur Rinderknech faces Matteo Berrettini in the second round of the 2026 French Open at Roland Garros. Rinderknech, playing in front of a home crowd and showing improved form, is tipped to edge out Berrettini in a five-set thriller. Despite Berrettini’s dangerous serve and past success, persistent injuries and recent losses to Top 30 players give Rinderknech the advantage. Key stats suggest a close battle, but the recommendation is to back the Frenchman to advance. Fans can watch the match online via live streaming platforms.
- Berrettini has lost 8 of his last 10 matches against Top 30 players
- Rinderknech will have plenty of support on centre court
- I am backing the Frenchman to win in 5 sets at Roland Garros
Arthur Rinderknech has never got past the second round at Roland Garros. I don’t think there will be much in this one, the home crowd to drag Rinderknech past Matteo Berrettini in 5 sets.

Rinderknech Seeded at Roland Garros
Arthur Rinderknech is 11-12 this year but remains in the Top 30. He has gone 5-8 against Top 50 players, taking Carlos Alcaraz to 3 sets in Indian Wells.
The 30-year-old had a poor start on clay, improving slightly in Geneva where he lost to Alexander Bublik in the quarter-finals.
The Frenchman had a comfortable start at Roland Garros, defeating Jurij Rodionov 7-6 6-2 6-3 after hitting 42 winners and 32 unforced errors.
Berrettini Out of the Top 100
Matteo Berrettini has been unable to get back to his best after persistent injuries derailed his career. He thrashed Daniil Medvedev 6-0 6-0 in Monte Carlo but it was an anomaly.
The Italian went out in the first round in Madrid and Rome, losing 6-3 6-4 to Dino Prizmic and 6-2 6-3 against Alexei Popyrin.
The 30-year-old came back to beat Marton Fucsovics 6-7 7-5 6-1 6-2 in his opening match at Roland Garros. He saved 6/7 break points and rattled down 14 aces.
Berrettini spoke after the victory: “When injuries come, you're always negative and you don't want to stop, and you think 'I could have done this' or 'I could have done that' but I look in the mirror and I'm so proud of my career and what I've achieved.
“Those who know me since I was a kid know I've been getting injured since I was 12, basically. It's a part of who I am. If I have a big serve, big forehand, I also have this issue.”
Verdict
Matteo Berrettini remains a dangerous opponent despite dropping out of the Top 100. I think this will be a close clash, Arthur Rinderknech’s superior fitness and home crowd advantage to get him through.
