Sabalenka Maintains Winning Momentum

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina 6-4, 6-3 to reach the final in Miami. Despite being broken twice, she stayed in control throughout the match.

With this win, she becomes only the second player after Maria Sharapova (2012–13) to reach both Sunshine Double finals in the same season since the format began.

She has now reached the final in all four events she has played this year, winning 22 of her 23 matches, with 21 of those victories coming in straight sets.

Sabalenka won the Miami title last year with six consecutive wins and is now aiming to defend her crown this week.

Since the start of 2025, she has played 12 finals and won six of them, including titles in Brisbane and Indian Wells, and she holds a strong 10-4 record in WTA 1000 finals.

Gauff Storms Into Miami Final

Coco Gauff defeated Karolina Muchova 6-1, 6-1 to reach the Miami final. She saved seven of eight break points and converted six of her 11 chances in a dominant display.

This is her first Sunshine Double final in 13 appearances. She had never gone past the fourth round in Miami before and had only one semifinal showing in Indian Wells in 2024.

There were concerns about her fitness after an injury in Indian Wells, but she managed it well, coming through four consecutive three-set matches before elevating her level in the semifinal.

This is her first final of the season. She has won 16 of her 21 matches this year, including a semifinal in Dubai and a quarterfinal in Wuhan.

Gauff holds a 3-2 record in WTA 1000 finals, with both of her losses coming on clay in Madrid and Rome last year.
