Galfi Seeks Momentum In Linz

Dalma Galfi snapped a five-match losing streak with a straight-sets win over Alycia Parks in the first round in Linz. She is now one win away from reaching her second quarterfinal at this event. 

Since the North American swing last year, she has struggled to find consistency across levels. From Cincinnati to Charleston, she has played 17 tournaments and recorded multiple main-draw wins only once, at a WTA 125 event in Oeiras. 

The 27-year-old is under pressure with significant points to defend this month, having reached three consecutive WTA 125 finals during this period last year. Failure to defend those points could lead to a further drop in rankings.

Cirstea Continues Strong Winning Form

Sorana Cirstea continued her strong form with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Sinja Kraus in the first round in Linz. She saved six of 10 break points and converted one of her three chances.
