Alexander Bublik is a difficult player to break and the conditions in Almaty suit his strong serve. Daniil Medvedev could struggle to stop the Kazakh which opens the door to a long first set.

Medvedev Defending Champion in Almaty
Daniil Medvedev was hard to beat in Asia, winning the Hangzhou Open before being disqualified in the China Open semi-finals.
The Russian had a slow start in Shanghai before beating Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul on his way to another semi-final. He disappointed against Rafael Jodar, losing 6-3 6-4.
The 30-year-old hasn't seen his serve broken in Almaty where he is the defending champion. He thrashed Sho Shimabukuro 6-2 6-1 in 52 minutes and dispatched Terence Atmane 6-4 6-4 in 76 minutes.
