Scheduled to run from October 22 to November 1, PARI Universe is an upcoming Tier-1 Dota 2 esports tournament and one of the year's final major events.

The tournament will play out entirely online, with 10 world-class teams fighting to claim the lion’s share of the US$250,000 prize pool and the coveted trophy.

As a Tier-1 tournament, PARI Universe will feature a stacked field of elite talent, with Team Yandex, Team Spirit, and PARIVISION leading the way as the main title contenders and the three teams with the biggest target on their backs.

When Does PARI Universe Start?

PARI Universe will start with the first group stage on Thursday, October 22. The tournament will run for 11 days and conclude on Sunday, November 1, with best-of-five grand finals.

PARI Universe will run from October 22 to November 1, and is divided into two stages.

The action begins with the group stage, where all 10 participating teams will be divided into two single round-robin groups of five. All group-stage games will be played as best-of-three, with the top four teams per group advancing to the playoffs.

The PARI Universe playoffs will transition to a double-elimination bracket, where all games will be best-of-three, except the grand finals, which will be best-of-five.

PARI Universe Favourites & Odds

PARI Universe is a fairly stacked Dota 2 tournament, featuring three of the highest-rated teams in the scene, including Team Yandex, Team Spirit, and PARIVISION.

Atop the PARI Universe food chain are the recently crowned BLAST SLAM VIII champions, Team Yandex, who’ve established themselves as the most in-form team in the scene.

Despite not winning The International, Team Yandex have been on a tear in recent months, placing top-three in the last five big events.

That run includes silver medals from TI and the Esports World Cup, and gold medals from BLAST SLAM VII, PGL Wallachia Season 9, and BLAST SLAM VIII.

Since The International, Team Yandex have played 14 games and won all but one – against Team Spirit, who they’ve since beaten twice. With the form Yandex have been showing, they are rightly viewed as the team to beat at PARI Universe.

PARIVISION are not to be underestimated either. The Russian team won the Esports World Cup, secured a silver medal at The International, and placed third at BLAST SLAM VIII, cementing their status as one of the year's most successful teams.

The reigning The International champions, Team Spirit, join the short list of serious title contenders at PARI Universe, having also been showing superb form over the last two months.

Since winning TI, Spirit have attended just one event – BLAST SLAM VIII – where they finished second after a tough 1-3 loss to Team Yandex in the grand finals.

As one of the most experienced rosters in the scene, who have shown ability to perform in clutch moments, Spirit should be under everyone’s radar, especially considering they’re known to start slow after TI and quickly ramp up.
