Felix Auger Aliassime faces Flavio Cobolli in the French Open quarter-finals, as the Canadian struggles on clay and Cobolli impresses with strong form. Aliassime, despite early-season success, has found clay challenging and has not defeated any top players at Roland Garros this year. Cobolli, by contrast, has lost only one set during the tournament and is tipped to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final. Key stats and head-to-head records support backing Cobolli for the win. Aliassime Into First French Open Quarter-Final

Felix Auger Aliassime suffered an injury at the Australian Open before winning the title in Montpellier and reaching the final in Rotterdam.

The Canadian has not been able to replicate that success on clay, getting to one quarter-final in Monte Carlo where he lost to Jannik Sinner. He exited early in Madrid, Rome and Hamburg, all three defeats against players outside the Top 40.

Aliassime had a slow start at the French Open, coming from behind to beat Daniel Altmaier in 5 sets. He lost the first set against Roman Andres Burruchaga before coming through 4-6 6-0 7-5 6-1.

The 25-year-old produced a similar performance in the third round, overcoming Brandon Nakashima 5-7 6-1 7-6 7-6. He saved all three break points in a 6-3 7-5 6-1 victory over Alejandro Tabilo, hitting 17 aces.

Cobolli Closing in on Top 10

Flavio Cobolli won the title in Acapulco and went close on clay in Munich. He beat Alexander Zverev on his way to the final where he went down to Ben Shelton.

The Italian got to the quarter-finals in Madrid before disappointing in Rome and Hamburg. He has been on fire at the French Open, dropping only one set.

The World No.14 defeated Andrea Pellegrino, Yibing Wu and Learner Tien in straight sets, saving a combined 7/11 break points.

Cobolli was on target for another comfortable victory over Zachary Svajda before letting it slip, coming through 6-2 6-3 6-7 7-6 to reach his second Grand Slam quarter-final.
