Francesca Jones began the year with a quarterfinal in ASB Classic, but her other events have ended without a win, including a recent loss to Peyton Stearns in ATX Open. 

The Brit showed strong progress in 2025 with consistent results at lower-level events. Titles in Open de Contrexeville and Palermo Ladies Open, along with a semifinal in Sao Paulo WTA 125, helped her break into the top 100. 

Her only previous WTA 1000 main-draw appearance came at the Madrid Open last year, where she lost a tight three-set match to Dayana Yastremska in the first round.

Day Continues Her Comeback Run

Kayla Day upset Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-2 7-5 in the first qualifying round at the Indian Wells Open. She then beat Darja Semenistaja to reach the main draw. 

Day was once ranked inside the top 100 but dropped outside the top 500 last August. Since then, she has rebuilt form with steady results on the lower-level circuit. 

She won two titles this year at W35 Le Lamentin and W50 Orlando. Her only tour-level appearance in the ATX Open ended in qualifying. 

Day has played three main draws at Indian Wells before. Her best run came on debut in 2017 when she reached the third round.
