Joao Fonseca showed some form to end the hard court swing, going down to Jannik Sinner in Indian Wells and Carlos Alcaraz in Miami.

The 19-year-old started the clay court swing in Monte Carlo, going down to Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. He fell to Ben Shelton in the Munich quarter-finals before early exits in Madrid and Rome.

The Brazilian withdrew from the Hamburg Open due to a wrist issue but came through unscathed at Roland Garros. He beat Luka Pavlovic 7-6 6-4 6-2, winning 69% of his 2nd serves and saving 6/8 break points.

Prizmic in Career Best Form


Dino Prizmic is 26-9 this year, becoming a Top 100 player in April after reaching the Monza Challenger final. He did well in Madrid, beating Matteo Berrettini and Ben Shelton before a third round defeat to Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

The Croatian qualified again in Rome where he shocked Novak Djokovic in the second round. He defeated Ugo Humbert 6-1 7-5 but his campaign ended in the fourth round, beaten 6-1 7-6 by Karen Khachanov.

The 20-year-old thrashed Michael Zheng 6-1 6-1 6-3 in the French Open first round. He hit 32 winners and 20 unforced errors, saving 4/5 break points.

Verdict

Dino Prizmic recently beat Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic to close in on the Top 50. Joao Fonseca could find it hard to put the Croatian away at Roland Garros, this one backed to go the distance.
