Jannik Sinner is the best player in men’s tennis and should have few problems beating Juan Manuel Cerundolo in straight sets. Once again we turn to the handicap markets at the French Open, Sinner to win by 10+ games.

Sinner in Sensational Form

Jannik Sinner has won his previous 30 matches, 27 of those victories coming in straight sets. He won titles in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome.

The 24-year-old has hardly looked like losing and is clearly World No.1 due to the injury sustained by Carlos Alacaraz.

The Italian was on target for another swift victory at Roland Garros before slowing down in a 6-1 6-3 6-4 win over Clement Tabur. He didn’t give up a break point against the wildcard, winning 73% of his 2nd serves.

Cerundolo Still Searching for the Top 50

Juan Manuel Cerundolo is 6-9 on the ATP Tour this year, getting to the quarter-finals in Rio de Janeiro where he suffered a 6-4 6-4 defeat to World No.87 Vit Kopriva.

The Argentine hasn’t got past the second round since, all seven defeats coming against players outside the Top 20.

Cerundolo got some confidence back by winning the Bordeaux Challeger where he didn’t face a Top 50 player.

The 24-year-old took advantage of a comfortable draw at the French Open. He defeated World No.125 Jacob Fearnley 6-2 7-6 7-6 in just under three hours, saving 6/8 break points.

Verdict

Jannik Sinner v Juan Manuel Cerundolo

Jannik Sinner beat Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-2 6-2 6-2 on grass in 2023 and has taken his game to a new level since then. I don’t see Cerundolo winning more than two games in any set here, Sinner to cover a -11.5 handicap.
