Stefanos Tsitsipas is set to play his first ATP Tour final in 18 months, but his route has been turbulent with three-set battles and a dip in confidence. On the other side, Raphael Collignon has surged into his maiden ATP final after a series of strong performances, capped by a dramatic comeback in the semifinals. Given Tsitsipas' recent record and Collignon's current form, the Belgian appears well-positioned for an upset, especially as betting odds offer strong value for his victory, particularly in straight sets and under 2.5 sets.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has battled his way into his first ATP Tour final in 18 months, but the journey has been far from convincing. He has needed three consecutive three-set victories to get there, and his overall level and confidence still leave room for doubt. Raphael Collignon, meanwhile, arrives in excellent form and full of belief after an impressive week, giving him a genuine opportunity to claim his maiden ATP Tour title.

Collignon Looks To Complete A Fairytale Week

  • Stefanos Tsitsipas holds a 5–8 career record in tour-level clay-court finals.
  • He has lost 11 of his last 15 matches against Top 50 players.
  • Raphael Collignon is competing in his maiden tour-level final.
  • He has a 26–4 record against players outside the Top 50 in 2026.

This will be their first meeting.

Tsitsipas Returns to an ATP Tour Final

Stefanos Tsitsipas secured his place in the final after defeating Alexander Shevchenko in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. He won 81% of his first-serve points and converted two of the nine break-point opportunities he created.

Three of his four matches this week have gone the distance, but Tsitsipas has gone one step further than last year by reaching his maiden Gstaad final after falling in the semifinals in 2024.

Before arriving in Gstaad, the Greek had failed to win multiple matches in each of his previous five tournaments. He had also recently ended his long-standing coaching partnership with his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, but has put those setbacks behind him with an impressive run this week.

Tsitsipas owns a 13-18 record in ATP Tour finals, including a 5-8 record on clay. He has won three of his last four tour-level finals, with his most recent title coming in Dubai last year.

Collignon Achieves Career-Best Result

Raphael Collignon moved into the final after defeating Juan Manuel Cerundolo in a remarkable comeback, 1-6, 7-6, 7-5. He trailed by a set and 3-5 in the second set and also saved a match point before completing the turnaround.

The Belgian continues his breakthrough season, having reached the quarterfinals in Brisbane and Halle, the third rounds of the Miami Open and the French Open, and three Challenger finals. With this run, he is projected to rise to a career-high No. 37 in the ATP rankings.

This is the first ATP Tour final of Collignon's career. His previous best result was reaching the semifinals in Brussels last year, and he is now aiming to capture his maiden ATP Tour title.

Verdict

Collignon has continued to improve in recent months and looks well equipped to take advantage of a vulnerable Tsitsipas. At underdog odds, he represents the better value. Backing Collignon to win, Collignon to win in straight sets, and under 2.5 sets in the match are the selections that look most appealing.
