Bradford vs Peterborough Preview

Bradford are a hard-to-beat side and keep things tight at Valley Parade. Peterborough are an unthreatening away side and the Bantams can win in the EFL Cup.

Key Stats - Bantams Home Strength

  • Bradford have won 3 of their last 4 home games.
  • Bradford have won their last 3 home matches against Peterborough.
  • Peterborough have lost 2 of their last 4 away matches.

H2H - Bradford Edge Recent Meetings

Bradford and Peterborough have 15 wins each and 13 draws in 43 meetings.

Bradford Look Confident

Michael Duff’s Bradford are in strong 2026/27 form. They are undefeated in 13 of their last 15 in all competitions, including EFL Cup wins against Rochdale 2-0 and Leyton Orient 3-1.

The Bantams are on a four-match unbeaten run at Valley Parade, winning three. Bradford beat Mansfield 1-0, Newcastle U21s 2-1 and Stevenage 2-0 in that run.

The Yorkshire side extended their unbeaten streak to 11 matches in all competitions following back-to-back 0-0 draws.

The League One outfit were held to a goalless stalemate at Oxford on Saturday. Bradford had 1.39 XG, five shots on target and couldn’t net the winning goal.

Peterborough Unconvincing on the Road

Peterborough progressed to the EFL Cup fourth round after a 3-3 home draw against Barnsley. Posh eventually won 7-6 on penalties.

The Cambridgeshire side have failed to win in five of their last eight games since that cup victory, losing three.

Robbie Savage was appointed as the new Peterborough boss in early October and led his side to a 3-1 win at Leicester. Posh are winless in three since then, starting with a 2-2 draw with Burton and a 4-1 loss at Huddersfield.

Savage’s outfit came back from a goal down and held Bromley to a 1-1 draw last time out. Peterborough conceded after 10 minutes and Vernon Masara scored in second-half injury time.
Bradford (3-4-2-1): Jon McCracken; Matt Pennington, Aden Baldwin, George Pratt; Kayden Jackson, Kieran Morgan, Henry Cartwright, Corey O'Keeffe; George Lapslie, Will Swan; Jake Beesley

Attackers Tyreik Wright and Josh Neufville are ruled out with muscle injuries. Striker Stephen Humphrys missed the Oxford match and is an injury doubt here.

Peterborough (4-2-3-1): Alex Bass; Carl Johnston, Lucca Mendonca, Josh Feeney, Harley Mills; Liam Kelly, Harry Ashfield; Bolu Shofowoke, Ethan Williams, Owura Edwards; Harry Leonard

Defender Rio Adebisi is sidelined with a knee problem, and centre-back Sam Hughes has an ACL injury. Midfielder Ben Woods is also unlikely to feature through injury.

Verdict

Bradford have enough form and momentum to see off an inconsistent Peterborough side in the EFL Cup. Stick with the Bantams to win in this fourth-round clash.
