The key recommendation is to watch out for Greece as they continue to build on their momentum in European football.

Die Mannschaft Lead H2H
These two nations locked horns eleven times so far and Germany have a 7-1 advantage in terms of victories.
Hellas Topping the Group
Greece are without a doubt the most pleasant surprise package in the UEFA Nations League 2026, grabbing seven points in three games in a tough group.
They kicked things off with a deserved 2-1 victory against Serbia in Belgrade, recovering from an early deficit with Christos Tzolis and Anastasios Douvikas finding the net.
Hellas gave up on possession against Germany (had just 24%) in the second round and focused on counter-attacks. This paid off in the 74th minute when Dimitrios Kourbelis' shot found the net, Greece taking huge 1-0 victory.
On Thursday, they had huge 2-0 lead at home against the Netherlands but ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw, which was a fair outcome considering Oranje had higher xG, 71% possession and 19-8 shots.
Germany Hoping to Build on Victory Over Serbia
Germany were close to securing three points in the first round in Jurgen Klopp's debut but conceded in stoppage time against the Netherlands, the game ending in a 1-1 draw (had 1.45-3.18 xG and 2-10 shots on target).
They were tagged massive favorites against Greece last weekend but shockingly lost 1-0 in front of the home crowd (had 1.26-0.77 xG and 76% possession). Kevin Schade and Younes Ebnoutalib missed big chances to score.
The first victory was finally earned on Thursday against Serbia 2-0 at home. Tom Bischof broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, while Florian Wirtz doubled the lead after the break. Germany had full control here with 74% possession and 32-1 in shots.
Team News & Predicted Lineups
Greece (4-2-3-1) Konstantinos Tzolakis; Manolis Saliakas, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Panagiotis Retsos, Konstantinos Tsimikas; Konstantinos Karetsas, Dimitrios Kourbelis; Thanasis Androutsos, Georgios Masouras; Vangelis Pavlidis, Fotios Ioannidis
Hosts have to replace Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis, who was forced off with an injury during their encounter against Netherlands. As a result, head coach options include introducing Georgios Masouras on the flank to support forward pair Fotios Ioannidis and Vangelis Pavlidis.

Germany (4-2-3-1) Jonas Urbig; Philipp Treu, Malick Thiaw, Waldemar Anton, David Raum; Serge Gnabry, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Tom Bischof, Said El Mala; Nick Woltemade, Florian Wirtz
With Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala sidelined through injuries, Germany have turned to Serge Gnabry and Florian Wirtz for creativity, alongside Nick Woltemade and prospect Said El Mala in an attacking frontline.

Verdict
Greek football is currently going through something of a renaissance, with a number of highly talented players emerging in recent years. I expect them to trouble Germany once again and secure at least a point at home.
