Rublev Former Champ in Dubai


Andrey Rublev is 10-3 this year, starting with a semi-final appearance in Hong Kong. He suffered a straight sets defeat to Francisco Cerundolo in the Australian Open third round. 

The Russian didn’t lose a set on his way to the semi-finals in Doha. He ran into Carlos Alcaraz and put up a fight, going down 7-6 6-4 to the World No.1.

Rublev’s serve has been broken once in Dubai where he won the title in 2022. He got past Valentin Royer 6-3 6-4 and Ugo Humbert 6-4 6-7 6-3 before a comfortable 6-2 6-4 quarter-final victory over Arthur Rinderknech.

Griekspoor Serving Strong


Tallon Griekspoor lost his opening four matches this year before a quarter-final defeat to World No.150 Titouan Droguet in Montpellier.

The 29-year-old beat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Quentin Halys but was no match for Felix Auger Aliassime, going down 7-6 6-2 in the quarters.

The Dutchman crushed Otto Virtanen 6-3 6-4 in Dubai before knocking out Alexander Bublik 6-3 7-6. He upset the odds again in the quarter-finals, defeating Jakub Mensik 6-3 3-6 6-2, allowing just one break point.

Verdict

Tallon Griekspoor’s serve has been broken just three times in his previous eight matches. The Dutchman is a dangerous opponent and can hold his own against Andrey Rublev.
