Ben Shelton is tipped to defeat Cameron Norrie 2-1 in the second round of the 2026 Paris Masters. Shelton has become known for frequent tie breaks, with 8 in his last 9 sets, suggesting another close contest. Norrie has struggled against elite opponents, losing 11 of his last 12 matches against Top 5 players. While Shelton's recent form has been inconsistent, his ability to come through tight matches gives him the edge. The match is expected to be competitive, with a three-set outcome favoured.

Ben Shelton has gone 2-4 since the US Open and can’t be backed with much confidence here. He should be too good for Cameron Norrie, but it might not be as easy as the odds suggest.

Shelton Into Top 5

Ben Shelton has won four titles this year, winning in Dallas, Munich, Stuttgart and Montreal. He beat Carlos Alcaraz on his way to the US Open final where he went down in 4 sets to Alexander Zverev.

The 24-year-old climbed to a career high World No.4 as a result but was not able to back it up. He was beaten by Jakub Mensik and Jiri Lehecka at the Davis Cup.

The American has failed to reach the quarters in his last two events, beaten by Arthur Gea in Shanghai and Jerome Kym in Basel.

Norrie Doing it Tough

Cameron Norrie found some form before the US Open, reaching the semi-finals in Los Cabos and the fourth round in Montreal.

That was as good as it got, the Brit losing seven of his previous 10 matches. That run included five straight defeats, losing to Dalibor Svrcina and Benjamin Bonzi along the way.

The 31-year-old blew a match point in a tight second round defeat to Daniil Medvedev in Vienna.

Norrie was involved in another long match in Paris, getting past Matteo Arnaldi 6-4 1-6 6-3 after winning 65% of his 2nd serves and saving 4/7 break points.
