Mirra Andreeva advances to the French Open fourth round after an impressive run, boasting strong clay-court form and a perfect record against players outside the Top 50 in 2025. Jil Teichmann, returning from a six-month break, has shown grit, coming back in matches and regaining confidence. However, Andreeva’s recent consistency and dominance on clay set her apart. With no prior meetings between them, Andreeva is predicted to have the edge and is favored to win in straight sets, given her current momentum and reliability.

Clay Form Carries Andreeva Forward

Mirra Andreeva moved into the fourth round after defeating Marie Bouzkova 6-3, 6-2. She saved both break points she faced and converted three of the eight break opportunities she created.

This is Andreeva's fourth consecutive fourth-round appearance at the French Open. She won both of her previous matches at this stage, reaching the semifinals in 2024 and the quarterfinals in 2025.

The Russian started the season strongly, winning the Adelaide title and reaching the fourth round at the Australian Open. However, she struggled through the Middle East and North American swings, winning only five matches and failing to defend several of her points.

Her level has improved significantly since the start of the clay season. Andreeva has won 18 of her 21 matches on the surface, including the title in Linz and a runner-up finish in Madrid, and she has carried that form into Paris.

She owns a 3-4 record in Grand Slam fourth-round matches, with two of those victories coming at Roland Garros.

Teichmann Keeps Paris Dream Alive

Jil Teichmann defeated Karolina Muchova 6-1, 7-5 to reach the fourth round at Roland Garros. She trailed 1-5 in the second set, but Muchova struggled physically with foot blisters and Teichmann took advantage to close out the match in straight sets.

This is Teichmann's second fourth-round appearance at the French Open. She previously reached this stage in 2022 but lost to Sloane Stephens in straight sets. It remains her only previous fourth-round appearance at a Grand Slam.

The Swiss returned to competition only in April after a six-month break and had dropped outside the Top 200 in the rankings. She struggled initially but reached the semifinals in Rabat last week, a result that gave her some much-needed confidence.

She has continued that run in Paris with three wins and is now looking to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal.
