Iva Jovic has delivered impressive performances across all surfaces this season, including reaching her first tour-level grass quarterfinal. She faces Amanda Anisimova, a player with a proven track record, particularly on grass, and far more experience in high-stakes matches. While Jovic’s growth makes her a dangerous opponent, Anisimova’s recent results and success at Queen’s Club (finalist last year) give her the edge. Expect a competitive match, but Anisimova’s experience may prove decisive.

Iva Jovic reached the quarterfinals after defeating fellow youngster Alexandra Eala 6-2, 6-2. She dropped serve only once and converted five of the seven break points she created during the match.

The American has continued to post strong results since last season, making an impact across all surfaces and establishing herself among the most consistent young players on tour.

Anisimova Builds on Last Year's Success

Amanda Anisimova reached the quarterfinals after defeating Laura Siegemund 6-1, 6-3. After receiving a first-round bye, she made a strong start to her campaign, saving the only break point she faced and converting four of her seven break opportunities.

This is Anisimova's second consecutive quarterfinal at Queen's Club. On her debut last year, she went on to reach the final with wins over Emma Navarro and Qinwen Zheng before losing to Tatjana Maria in the title match.

The American has dealt with illness and a wrist injury in recent months, which kept her off the tour for around two months before returning at Roland Garros, where she lost to Diane Parry in three sets.

Grass was her best surface last season, as she won 12 of her 15 matches and reached the Wimbledon final. Those results helped her break into the Top 10 for the first time and were followed by runner-up finishes at the US Open and Beijing.

Since the start of 2025, Anisimova has played nine tour-level quarterfinals and won seven of them. Her most recent defeat at this stage came against Jessica Pegula at the Australian Open.

Verdict

Iva Jovic has been impressive and continues to prove her level across all surfaces. However, Amanda Anisimova’s greater experience and overall ability give her the edge in this matchup. Even so, Jovic has the game to provide strong resistance and make it a competitive contest.
