Jannik Sinner heads into the ATP Rome Open fourth round in exceptional form, boasting 25 consecutive wins, most in straight sets, and is ranked World No.1 after dominant victories at recent Masters events. Andrea Pellegrino, while having made progress in Rome, lacks Sinner's pedigree and ranking, making Sinner the overwhelming favorite. The key recommendation is to back Sinner for a comprehensive win, continuing his streak of dominance.

Sinner in Sensational Form

Jannik Sinner has been playing on another level, winning 25 matches with 23 of those coming in straight sets. He won Masters titles in Indian Wells and Miami without losing a set.

The Italian beat Carlos Alcaraz in the Monte Carlo Masters final to return to World No.1. He won another title in Madrid, hammering Alexander Zverev 6-1 6-2 in the final.

The 24-year-old defeated Sebastian Ofner 6-3 6-4 in Rome before cruising past Alexei Popyrin 6-2 6-0, winning 68% of the points and getting it done in 67 minutes.

Pellegrino Toiling on Tour

Andrea Pellegrino has never been a Top 10 player, his best result on the ATP Tour coming in February, a quarter-final appearance in Santiago.

The 29-year-old couldn’t qualify in Marrakech, Monte Carlo and Madrid but broke through in Rome. He came back to beat Luca Nardi in the first round and was leading 4-0 when Arthur Fils retired.

The Italian will climb into the Top 130 after a 7-6 6-1 victory over Frances Tiafoe. He saved two set points before storming home, winning 71% return points in the second set.

Verdict

Jannik Sinner is clearly the the top player in men’s tennis and Andrea Pellegrino has never been in the Top 100. All signs point towards another comfortable victory for the World No.1.
