Martinez Slipping Down the Rankings


Pedro Martinez went on a horrible run from April, losing 22 of 28 matches. Five of those defeats came against players outside the Top 250.

The Spaniard decided to avoid the ATP Tour this year. It paid off as he won the Bengaluru Challenger.

The 28-year-old didn’t face a Top 200 player in India, defeating Timofey Skatov in the final.

Djokovic Searching for 25th Grand Slam


Novak Djokovic lost in the semi-finals at all four Grand Slams last year, unable to sustain a title run against younger opponents.

The 38-year-old won the Geneva Open in May, his 100th ATP Tour title. He ended 2025 with another title in Athens, defeating Lorenzo Musetti in the final.
The World No.4 recently pulled out of the Adelaide International, but is fully focused on an extended run in Melbourne where he could claim his 25th Grand Slam.

Djokovic said: "There has been a lot of talk about the 25th, but I try to focus myself on what I have achieved, not what I'm possibly achieving."

"I hope it comes to that, but 24 is also not a bad number. I have to appreciate that and remind myself of the amazing career I had."

Pedro Martinez has a horrible record against top players on hard courts and is making up the numbers in Melbourne.

Novak Djokovic will want to conserve energy at the Australian Open where he is backed to win in straight sets.
