Kylian Mbappe scored the only goal right after the break, while they ended this clash with lower xG 1.17-1.21 and 12-12 in shots. Rayan Cherki missed a huge chance to double their lead late.
This was the first match for Les Bleus after finishing fourth at the World Cup 2026 where they were deservedly beaten by Spain 2-0 in the semifinals, then lost the bronze medal decider to England 6-4 which was Didier Deschamps' last game in charge.
