Bolivia vs Scotland Live Stream & Tips - Scotland Tipped to Claim Friendly Victory

Bolivia and Scotland meet for their first ever international fixture in New Jersey as Scotland look to maintain momentum heading into the World Cup. Recent form favors Scotland, who have won six of their last ten matches, compared to Bolivia's struggles—especially away from home, losing ten of their last eleven. Squad news includes key absences and young debuts for both sides, with Scotland's coach likely to start experienced players. The prediction leans towards a low-scoring Scottish win, as Bolivia continue searching for form after World Cup playoff disappointment.

Bolivia vs Scotland Predictions

Scotland will likely field a strong side in their final World Cup warm-up fixture, and they should have enough quality to edge past a goal-shy Bolivian side.

An away win with under 3.5 goals looks the best value pick at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

Scots in Better Form

  • Bolivia lost 6 of their last 9 matches
  • Bolivia have seen under 3.5 goals in their last 15 matches
  • Scotland won 5 of their last 8 matches
  • Scotland have seen under 3.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 away matches

Bolivia and Scotland Set For First-Ever Encounter

Bolivia and Scotland will meet for the first time in Saturday's international friendly fixture.

Bolivia Looking to Bounce Back

Bolivia arrive in New Jersey for their first fixture since a painful defeat against Iraq in the final of the World Cup inter-confederation playoffs in April.

After overcoming Suriname with a 2-1 win in the semi-finals, the South Americans saw their hopes of a fourth World Cup appearance shattered in Mexico. Goals from Ali Al-Hamadi and Aymen Hussein secured a famous victory for the Iraqis.

Before their World Cup qualification heartbreak, Bolivia had struggled to make much of an impression in a series of friendly fixtures. Oscar Villegas's side lost five and won just one of seven non-competitive contests between October 2025 and March this year.

A dismal record away from the high altitude in La Paz remains the biggest problem for Bolivia. The South Americans lost ten of their last 11 matches on their travels.

Scotland See-Off Curacao

Scotland head to the US for their final World Cup warm-up fixture after a somewhat flattering 4-1 win against Curacao last weekend. A goal down approaching half-time, the Scots sprang into life following the dismissal of Jurgen Locadia for violent conduct.

Findlay Curtis bagged his first international goal shortly after replacing the stricken Billy Gilmour, before a Lawrence Shankland brace and Ryan Christie penalty secured victory for Steve Clarke's side.

While the second half offered encouragement, a lacklustre first period gave Clarke food for thought coming into this weekend's friendly in New Jersey.

A miserable friendly record had seen the Scots win just three of 19 previous non-competitive games since 2018.

The Scots have now won six and lost three of their last ten internationals over the past 12 months, including impressive World Cup qualification wins against Greece and Denmark.

Squads and Team News

Bolivia Squad

Goalkeepers: Carlos Lampe, Guillermo Viscarra, Geronimo Govea.
Defenders: Roberto Fernandez, Luis Haquin, Diego Medina, Yomar Rocha, Efrain Morales, Diego Arroyo, Lucas Macazaga, Marcelo Torrez, Leonardo Zabala, Dieguito Rodriguez.
Midfielders: Ramiro Vaca, Gabriel Villamil, Moises Villarroel, Miguel Terceros, Hector Cuellar, Robson Tome, Ervin Vaca, Carlos Melgar, Oscar Lopez, Jesus Maraude.
Forwards: Moises Paniagua, Guilmar Centella, Nabil Nacif, Daniel Ribera, Leonardo Viviani.

Head coach Villegas has a relatively inexperienced 28-man squad available for Saturday’s friendly fixture. Sixteen-year-old forward Nabil Nacif is one of four uncapped players included in the selection, while 15 members of the squad have ten caps or fewer.

Scotland Squad

Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon, Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly.
Defenders: Andy Robertson, Grant Hanley, Kieran Tierney, Scott McKenna, Jack Hendry, Nathan Patterson, Anthony Ralston, John Souttar, Aaron Hickey, Dominic Hyam.
Midfielders: John McGinn, Scott McTominay, Ryan Christie, Kenny McLean, Tyler Fletcher, Lewis Ferguson, Ben Doak, Findlay Curtis.
Forwards: Lyndon Dykes, Che Adams, Lawrence Shankland, George Hirst, Ross Stewart.

Head coach Clarke has a 26-man squad available for Scotland’s send-off fixture this weekend. Billy Gilmour has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a knee injury against Curacao.

Manchester United teenager Tyler Fletcher has been called up to replace the devastated Napoli midfielder.

Clarke is likely to select a strong XI, with John McGinn, Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson among those expected to start in New Jersey.

The Scottish boss expressed his concern about the uninspiring first half against Curacao.

"I've got to be honest, I wasn't happy with the start.

"The game didn't reflect how well Curacao actually played; the scoreline ran away from them a little bit. At 11v11, we had a little bit of work to do.

"I think I would have rather had it as an 11v11 challenge, but a win is a win."

Verdict

Scotland will be keen to maintain winning momentum ahead of their World Cup opener against Haiti next week. I expect the Europeans to edge to a narrow and low-scoring win in New Jersey.
