Hungary needed just one point in the final round of WC 2026 qualifiers against Ireland, had a 2-1 lead after 80 minutes but still lost this encounter and didn’t make playoffs.
Marco Rossi’s side had good results in their international friendlies, beating Slovenia 1-0 in late March, followed by a goalless draw against Greece a couple of days later.
