Lens have been formidable at home in the current Ligue 1 season, securing 12 victories out of 14 home games. Their performance against Toulouse, marked by a decisive 3-0 win, is a testament to their home field prowess. The team's strength is expected to continue as they look forward to adding another win to their record this Friday. With such a commanding record, Lens are one of the teams to watch in Ligue 1, particularly when playing on their home turf.

Lens had two weeks to rest and prepare for this clash, while Toulouse were busy getting smashed at home by Lille 4-0 last weekend. I am backing the most dominant home team in Ligue 1 to take the points here.

Key Stats

  • Lens have won 12 of their last 13 home matches.
  • Lens beat Toulouse 3-0 earlier this season.
  • Toulouse have lost their last 2 matches.

Hosts Lead H2H

Lens hold a 23-18 advantage against Toulouse with 14 draws in 55 matches. They also have better goal difference 66-50.

Lens Strong at Home

Lens are the most pleasant surprise package in Ligue 1 this season, currently sitting in 2nd place with a four-point deficit from the leaders PSG, but their title hopes have gone down due to a couple of recent defeats.

After suffering a 2-1 road defeat to mid-table Lorient in mid-March, the Blood and Gold returned to winning ways instantly at home, crushing Angers 5-1 where Odsonne Edouard starred with a brace.

Pierre Sage’s side underperformed in their most recent contest at Decathlon Arena, losing convincingly to Lille 3-0, ending the match with 0.58-3.68 expected goals and 5-13 shots.

Toulouse Have Little Left to Play For

Toulouse have already met their season goal when it comes to Ligue 1, staying far away from the relegation battle, currently occupying 10th place with very little room to make progress.

Their results in April have been poor, starting the month with a 3-1 defeat to PSG in the capital, Rasmus Nicolaisen scoring a consolation from their only shot on target.

Last weekend, the Violets were crushed by Lille 4-0 in front of the home crowd, firing just one shot on target while allowing eight.

Team News & Predicted Lineups

Lens (3-4-2-1) Robin Risser; Zeki Celik, Ismael Ganiou, Malang Sarr; Saud Abdulhamid, Danilo Bulatovic, Adrien Thomasson, Matthieu Udol; Florian Thauvin, Allan Saint-Maximin; Odsonne Edouard

Jonathan Gradit, Samson Baidoo and Regis Gurtner are confirmed absentees for the home side due to injuries, while Kyllian Antonio and Ruben Aguilar are doubtful.

Toulouse (3-4-2-1) Guillaume Restes; Charlie Cresswell, Seny Koumbassa, Rasmus Nicolaisen; Djibril Sidibe, Cristian Casseres, Pape Demba Diop, Alexis Vossah; Aron Donnum, Yann Gboho; Emersonn

The visitors can't count on injured Abu Francis and Frank Magri, while Alex Dominguez and Rafik Messali are doubtful. Mark McKenzie is serving a two-game suspension after being sent off last weekend.

Verdict

Lens are the most successful home team in Ligue 1 this season with 12 wins in 14 matches and they beat Toulouse 3-0 earlier in the campaign. I am backing them to collect three points on Friday.
