Mamelodi Sundowns are tipped to win against Siwelele, who have struggled on the road and recently sacked their coach after a string of poor results. Sundowns have impressive recent form with four consecutive wins, while Siwelele’s away record is dismal, with no wins from their last 12. Both teams have shown the potential to score, but Sundowns’ attacking power and consistency make them strong favorites. Predicted lineups highlight some key team changes, including injuries and new signings. The recommendation is a Sundowns win with both teams to score.

  • Sundowns are in top form with 4 wins in a row; Siwelele winless in 12 away.
  • Siwelele recently sacked their coach after a poor start to the season.
  • Prediction: Both teams to score, but Sundowns expected to secure victory.

I see Sundowns having far too much for Siwelele, who are poor travellers. I’m tipping both teams to score in the match and Sundowns to take the win.

Key Stats - Goals Expected

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 17 of their last 22 PSL matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have seen BTTS Yes in 13 of their last 17 matches.
  • Siwelele have lost 4 of their last 5 away matches.
  • Siwelele are winless in 12 away matches (6 losses, 6 draws).

Eleven Goal Thriller

These clubs have met just twice. In December, it finished in a 1-1 draw in Bloemfontein.

In May 2026, Sundowns beat Siwelele 7-4 in the highest-scoring PSL match ever.

Sundowns Four Straight Wins

Sundowns had won just seven of 14 matches in a disappointing streak, but have since strung together four victories in a row.

They thrashed AmaZulu 5-2 in the league and won 3-2 at Golden Arrows in the MTN8 semi-final second leg. That saw Downs progress to the final on away goals after losing 1-0 in the first leg.

Sundowns beat Milford 2-0 at home last midweek. On Sunday, they won 2-1 at Golden Arrows in the league after initially surrendering a 1-0 lead.

Siwelele’s Coach Pays the Price

Siwelele’s last 14 fixtures have seen just two wins. Coach Lehlohonolo Seema was sacked this week after a poor start to the season as over 20 players departed in the transfer window.

A 2-2 home draw on the opening day vs TS Galaxy was followed by a 1-0 loss at Milford. They lost 2-0 at AmaZulu and drew 1-1 at home to Chippa United despite a 34-14 combined shot count in those fixtures.

Their last match saw a 3-2 defeat at Kaizer Chiefs. Siwelele allowed just 0.87 xG in that defeat.

Predicted Lineups & News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Williams; Morena, Kekana, Khoza, Basadien; Mokoena, Allende; Ndlovu, Mailula, Matthews; Leon.

Sundowns are without two key defenders in Keanu Cupido and Khuliso Mudua. Zuko Mdunyelwa is available at right back and Deano Van Rooyen has joined to boost that position.

Arthur Sales is back in training but this match comes too soon for him. Siyanda Ndlovu is set to start down the right after scoring his first Sundowns goal in the last match.

Siwelele (4-4-2): Xulu; Mfolozi, Sesane, Ndebele, Baliti; Jeza, Kobedi, Mokhuoane, Potsane; Issah, Pule.

Siwelele signed goalkeeper Jody February on loan, but he is ineligible against his parent club. Error-prone Samukelo Xulu will start in goal.

Tebogo Potsane is set to return to the XI after assisting twice vs Chiefs. Grant Margeman will need a late fitness test in midfield.

Verdict

I see both sides scoring in this match with Sundowns taking the three points.
