Goalkeeper Rory Brian was the hero for the Eagles, saving a penalty in the 80th minute before producing two more stops in the ensuing shootout.
However, it's been a poor season in the league for the Eagles - they currently sit in second-last spot on the ladder, winning just five of their 24 games - although one of those came in a 2-0 triumph over Brunswick City this past weekend.
