Inter Milan are having a rough start to the new season, losing two out of three Serie A games where they had higher xG than opponents. I will back them to bounce back against Ajax who are also underperforming in Eredivisie.

Ajax started the new season under new leadership, John Heitinga being appointed head manager earlier this summer, but had a couple of slip ups already. 

The Amsterdam side has been struggling on the road in Eredivisie. After beating Telstar 2-0 in the first round, they drawn at Go Ahead Eagles 2-2. 

A similar scenario was seen in late August, a 2-0 home win over Heracles followed by a 1-1 road draw at Volendam. 

Ajax returned from the international break with a 3-1 home victory against Zwolle last weekend, Mika Godts starring with two goals, Davy Klaassen also on target. 

Inter Milan Form 


Inter Milan have also been underperforming under new manager Christian Chivu in the new season, securing just three points from their opening three league games. 

Nerazzurri kicked things off with a commanding 5-0 home victory against Torino but then suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Udinese also at Guiseppe Meazza. 

Chivu’s side had a 3-2 lead against Juventus in Torino last weekend for more than 80 minutes, Hakan Calhanoglu scoring twice, Marcus Thuram also on the scoresheet, but conceded two late goals and lost 4-3.

Ajax will be without services of Branco van den Boomen who is recovering from back injury, while Aaron Bouwman is also sidelined due to a knock. 

Inter Milan have no reported injuries or suspensions ahead of this clash.

Inter Milan undeservedly lost their last two games to Udinese and Juventus in my opinion, having higher xG and missing plenty of chances. I expect them to bounce back against Ajax who already slipped twice in five Eredivisie rounds.
