Fenerbahce have scored in their last 10 competitive games and have the weapons to find the net in France. I am avoiding the win market here and focusing on goals.

Lyon Finding their Feet


Lyon had a scare in the Champions League third round qualifiers, suffering a 2-1 defeat at Sparta Prague in the first leg.

Ernest Nuamah put the French club ahead in the return leg before the Czech side went down to 10 men before the break. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Tyler Morton scored in the second half to earn a 3-0 victory.

Paulo Fonseca’s side withstood pressure at Fenerbahce last week, earning a 1-1 draw in Istanbul. It was a deserved result after registering 0.73-0.43 xG in Turkey.

Lyon earned a fortunate 2-0 win at Toulouse in their Ligue 1 opener on Saturday. Noah Nartey and Malick Fofana scored in the second half as they ended with 0.70-2.76 xG.

Tough Draw for Fenerbahce


Fenerbahce had few problems in their opening two Champions League ties, getting past Gornik Zabrze 2-1 on aggregate the second round and Sturm Graz 3-0 in the third round.

Talisca scored first in all four games and continued the trend in their opening Super Lig match. The Brazilian netted first against Genclerbirligi but the Yellow Canaries lost 2-1, ending the contest with 71% possession, 11-3 shots on target and 2.90-1.19 xG.

Mason Greenwood equalised against Lyon as Ismail Kartal’s side were held to a 1-1 draw in the playoff first leg last week.

The Turkish club are coming off a 4-2 victory over Konyaspor. Talisca was not in the squad which saw Greenwood step up with two goals and an assist.

Verdict

Fenerbahce have multiple goal threats and are more than capable of scoring in France. I am backing BTTS in Lyon where a high scoring clash wouldn’t surprise.
