Fenerbahce finally kept a clean sheet last weekend against underdog Antalyaspor, but they can’t be trusted to make it two in a row against Nice who were dangerous against Roma. I am confident about the BTTS pick here.

They locked horns in the UEFA Cup 1973, Nice winning 4-0 at home, then losing 2-0 in Turkey.

Fenerbahce are struggling after Jose Mourinho’s departure, winning just four out of seven games in the Super Lig (three draws) so the gap from table leaders Galatasaray is six points already.  

After beating Trabzonspor 1-0 in Domenico Tedesco’s debut in mid-September, the Yellow Canaries recorded two straight league draws against underdog Alanyaspor 2-2 and Kasimapsa 1-1.  

In last week's Europa League action, they were beaten in Croatia by Dinamo Zagreb 3-1, Sebastian Szymanski finding the net in first half. 

Fenerbahce finally returned to winning ways last weekend, beating Antalyaspor 2-0 in front of the home crowd, Talisca breaking the deadlock in second half, Szymanski securing points in stoppage time. 

Nice Form 


Nice deserved more than 2-1 home loss to Roma in their Europa League opening clash last week, missing a couple of great chances to score, Teremas Moffi converting a penalty in second half. 

The Eaglets are struggling with consistency in the new Ligue 1 campaign, accumulating just seven points in six games so far. 

They returned from the international break with a 1-0 home win against Nantes in mid-September, but then underperformed in a 4-1 road loss to Brest, while failing to beat newly promoted Paris 1-1 at home last weekend.

Fenerbahce’s biggest signing Jhon Duran is still recovering from head injury, while Edson Alvarez is a doubt due to a muscle problem. 

As for the visitors, Hicham Boudaoui joined Tanguy Ndombele, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Youssouf Ndayishimiye on the sidelines, suffering an injury last weekend against Lyon.

Verdict

Five of Nice’s last six matches have seen both teams to score. Fenerbahce carry plenty of firepower but struggle defensively, so BTTS is the best bet in Turkey.

Another option worth considering is Sebastian Szymanski to score anytime. He was rested in last weekend’s win over Antalyaspor, got substituted in the 86th minute and scored in stoppage time. He also appeared on the scoresheet against Dinamo Zagreb.
