In an exciting ATP Madrid 2026 matchup, Alexander Bublik faces Stefanos Tsitsipas in the tournament's second round. Bublik, known for his formidable form, having won 39 of his last 40 matches, is poised to advance, benefiting from Madrid's faster conditions. Tsitsipas has struggled recently, particularly against top players, boosting Bublik's chances. With the Greek player managing just one quarter-final this year, Bublik's superior clay court experience likely positions him as the favorite. Tennis enthusiasts can tune in for live streaming to watch this thrilling encounter unfold.

Stefanos Tsitsipas scraped through the first round, a player who should continue to be opposed. Alexander Bublik is likely to enjoy the faster conditions in Madrid and get to the third round.

Bublik Aiming to Bounce Back

Alexander Bublik won the Hong Kong Open in January to break into the Top 10. He lost to Alex de Minaur in the Australian Open fourth round and reached the semi-finals in Rotterdam.

The 28-year-old exited early in Indian Wells and Miami before switching to clay in Monte Carlo. He had few problems getting past Gael Monfils and Jiri Lehecka before a 6-3 6-0 defeat to Carlos Alcaraz.

The Kazakh lost his opening match in Munich, beaten 6-4 6-2 by Alex Molcan who went on to reach the semis.

Tsitsipas Slipping Down the Rankings

Stefanos Tsitsipas had a poor start to the year, reaching one quarter-final which came in Doha.

The Greek lost his opening two matches on clay, the first a 7-5 6-4 loss to Francisco Cerundolo in Monte Carlo. He surrendered a lead against Fabian Marozsan in Munich, saving 14/15 break points in a 3-6 7-6 6-4 defeat.

The 27-year-old came through a close clash in Madrid, getting past lucky loser Patrick Kypson 3-6 7-6 7-6. He won just 44% of his 2nd serves, saving two break points at 5-5 in the second set.

Verdict

Alexander Bublik is a temperamental player but I think the conditions in Madrid will suit his game. The Kazakh won two tournaments on clay last year and should have too much for Stefanos.
