Aryna Sabalenka defeated Daria Kasatkina in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5, to reach the fourth round at the French Open. She dropped serve once and broke her opponent five times during the match.
This is Sabalenka's fourth consecutive Round of 16 appearance at Roland Garros. She converted each of her previous three into quarterfinal runs, including a semifinal in 2023 and a runner-up finish in 2025.
The Belarusian made a flying start to the season by reaching the final in each of her first four tournaments. Her clay campaign slowed down a little with a quarterfinal loss to Hailey Baptiste in Madrid and a third-round defeat to Sorana Cirstea in Rome, but she has looked back to her best in Paris.
Since the start of 2024, Sabalenka has lost only two Round of 16 matches at tour-level events from 32 appearances, highlighting her consistency in reaching the latter stages of tournaments.
She owns a 15-3 record in Grand Slam fourth-round matches. Her most recent defeat at this stage came against Kaia Kanepi at the Australian Open in 2022.
