Veronika Erjavec vs Elena Rybakina Betting Tips & Live Stream – Handicap Value Appears on Rybakina at WTA Roland Garros
Elena Rybakina, ranked world No.2, heads into her French Open first-round clash as a clear favorite against Veronika Erjavec. Rybakina boasts impressive consistency with two titles this year and a dominant Grand Slam record, particularly in Paris. While Erjavec has grown confident on clay recently, highlighted by several WTA 125 quarterfinal runs, her experience at this level is limited and her major record is still developing. The matchup is their first-ever meeting. Ultimately, Rybakina’s big-match pedigree is expected to prevail, though Erjavec could offer resistance.
- Rybakina is a strong favorite with impressive Grand Slam and clay records
- Erjavec is confident after recent clay successes but lacks major experience
- First-ever meeting; Rybakina’s consistency likely to see her through
Recent clay results have boosted Erjavec’s confidence, but facing a player of Rybakina’s quality at this level remains a difficult task despite the possibility of some resistance.

Erjavec Carries Clay Confidence
Veronika Erjavec struggled during the early hard-court swing this season, losing in the main draw of all four tour-level events she entered without recording a victory.
The Slovenian rediscovered her best level once the clay season began. She produced four quarterfinal-or-better finishes at WTA 125 events, results that helped her climb to a career-high ranking of No. 85 recently.
Erjavec holds a 2-5 record in tour-level opening-round matches. At Grand Slam level, her first-round record currently stands at 1-2.

Rybakina Continues Remarkable Consistency
Elena Rybakina has maintained impressive consistency since last season and reached at least the quarterfinals in seven of the nine tournaments she has played in 2026. Her strong campaign includes titles at the Australian Open and Stuttgart.
The Kazakh has now won 30 of her 37 matches this year and has already matched her clay-court win total from last season. Those results also helped her rise to a career-high ranking of No. 2.
This will be Rybakina’s eighth main-draw appearance at French Open. Apart from an opening-round loss on her debut in 2019, she has successfully cleared the first round in each of her last six appearances.

Verdict
Veronika Erjavec has showcased her potential on clay in recent weeks, which should give her confidence heading into this clash. However, her lack of experience and proven ability at this level still favors Elena Rybakina to progress further. Erjavec could still provide solid resistance, especially in one of the sets.
