Berrettini Battling Injuries

Matteo Berrettini went on a great run on clay last year but was unable to break into the Top 20. His injury problems continued in 2026, pulling out of the Australian Open due to an abdominal injury.

The Italian competed on the South American clay court swing, going 3-3 without meeting a Top 70 player.

The 29-year-old reached the quarter-finals in Rio de Janeiro where he went down to World No.91 Ignacio Buse. He was knocked out in the first round in Santiago, beaten 6-3 6-4 by Emilio Nava.

Adrian Mannarino lost his final four matches last year and that continued in 2026. He lost his first four matches, all against players outside the Top 60.
