Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Tomas Machac Live Stream & Betting Tips - Machac to Upset the Odds at ATP Rome

The ATP Rome clash between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tomas Machac promises to be a long, tightly contested match. Although Tsitsipas showed signs of improvement in Madrid, his recent inconsistencies make it difficult to back him confidently. Machac thrives in protracted battles and poses a significant threat to Tsitsipas, especially with his proven record of going the distance in matches. The recommendation is to side with Machac for the upset, expect an extended match, and explore betting options like Machac winning or the match going over 29.5 games.

Stefanos Tsitsipas showed some improvement in Madrid but I remain unwilling to back the Greek as a favourite. I think this will be a long match, Tomas Machac with the weapons to emerge victorious.

Tsitsipas Down to World No.75

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been on the slide this year, reaching one quarter-final which came in Doha. He lost his opening two matches on clay.

The Greek showed some improvement in Madrid, getting past lucky loser Patrick Kypson in 3 sets before a 6-2 7-5 victory over Alexander Bublik.

The 27-year-old eased past Daniel Merida Aguilar before blowing a great chance in the fourth round. He couldn’t convert two match points in a 6-7 7-6 7-6 defeat against Casper Ruud.

Tsitsipas' mental fragility continues to be a problem since dropping out of the Top 10 just over a year ago.

Machac Form Used to Long Matches

Tomas Machac won the Adelaide International in January but couldn’t kick on, losing four of his final five matches on hard courts to drop out of the Top 50.

The Czech has seen some mixed results on clay, beating Francisco Cerundolo in Monte Carlo before a 6-1 6-7 6-3 third round defeat to Jannik Sinner. He then lost to Andrey Rublev in the Barcelona Open quarter-finals.

The 25-year-old overcame a slow start in Madrid, coming back to beat Francisco Comesana in 3 sets. He served for the match against Cameron Norrie but couldn’t close it out, going down 6-2 6-7 7-6 in a thriller.

Just four of Machac's previous 16 completed matches have ended in straight sets.

Verdict

I can back Stefanos Tsitsipas as a favourite, especially after losing to Tomas Machac in January. The Czech loves a long match and can drag Tsitsipas into an extended battle in Rome.
