Andrea Pellegrino faces Luca Nardi in an all-Italian first-round clash at the ATP Rome 2026. Neither player is on top form—Pellegrino has never cracked the Top 100, while Nardi has dropped to No. 151 after a poor run. Recent stats show both players often contest long matches, raising the likelihood of a three-set battle. The match is expected to be closely fought, with bettors and viewers advised to anticipate a tight contest. Free live streams are available, and neither player is a strong favorite.

  • Nardi has gone to 3 sets in 5 of his last 6 matches
  • This will be Pellegrino’s tenth match on the ATP Tour
  • I am expecting these Italians to go all the way in Rome

Andrea Pellegrino and Luca Nardi are both struggling and unlikely to go deep in Rome. I can’t back either of these players to win, my money on the match going to 3 sets.

Pellegrino Still Searching for Top 100

Andrea Pellegrino has played nine matches on the ATP Tour, going 4-5 with two of those victories coming this year.

The 29-year-old beat Alex Barrena and Francisco Comesana in Santiago before a quarter-final defeat to Luciano Darderi.

The World No.155 failed to qualify in Marrakech, Monte Carlo and Madrid but broke through in Rome. He thrashed Hugo Gaston 6-1 6-3 before a 6-3 2-6 6-2 victory over Martin Landaluce.

Nardi in Poor Form

Luca Nardi started 2026 with three straight defeats. He went to the Manama Challenger and lost the final to Kyrian Jacquet.

The Italian beat Flavio Cobolli to reach the quarter-finals in Montpellier where he lost in straight sets to World No.160 Martin Damm. He then had some shocking results, beaten by World No.402 Arthur Bouquier in Pau and World No.396 Trevor Svajda in Indian Wells.

Nardi comes to Rome after four straight defeats that has seen him drop to 151 in the rankings. He was last seen at the Monza Challenger where he was beaten by Valentin Royer in the first round.

Verdict

Andrea Pellegrino has never been in the Top 100 and Luca Nardi recently dropped out of the Top 150. These players can’t be trusted to win, a 3 set clash on the cards in Rome.
