The prediction is a comfortable Al Nassr victory, with over 3.5 goals and Felix leading the scoring threat. Diriyah’s lack of top-level quality leaves them little chance to contain their formidable opponents.

Al Diriyah’s recent form has declined and the newly promoted team are unlikely to contain a talented Al Nassr. In-form Joao Felix can score in a comfortable Al Nassr King’s Cup victory.

Al Diriyah Started 2026/27 With Defeat


Al Diriyah were promoted to the Saudi Pro League last season after winning the Division 1 play-off final. The Riyadh side beat Al Ula 2-1 after extra time to seal promotion. 

Bruno Lage’s outfit began pre-season with back-to-back wins over Trelleborg 4-1 and FA 2000 2-0. Diriyah couldn’t extend their winning streak and drew 1-1 against Al Ain.

The newly promoted side started the 2026/27 Saudi Pro League season with a 1-0 home loss to Al Ahil. Diriyah conceded the winner after 25 minutes and had 18 shots and 1.35 XG. 

Al Nassr Seek Momentum After a Winning Start


Al Nassr lifted the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League title, winning 28 of 34 games. The Global Ones were the league’s highest scorers with 91 goals and Joao Felix scored 20. 

Ange Postecoglou was named as Nassr’s new boss in July and oversaw a mixed pre-season. 

The Saudi Pro League champions started pre-season with a  2-1 loss to Benfica B and a 2-0 win against AD Merida. Consecutive friendly defeats followed against Estrela 4-2 and Almeria 2-0. 

Postecoglou’s outfit were back to full strength on Saturday and cruised to a 3-0 league win at Al Fateh. Angelo, Joao Felix and Samu Costa hit the net and Nassr dominated with nine shots on target and 1.62 XG.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed the Al Fateh game and is unlikely to feature against Al Diriyah. The 41-year-old attacker has been given extended rest after the 2026 World Cup. 

Defender Saad Al-Nasser came in the first half against Al Fateh and is an injury doubt. 

Verdict

Al Diriyah lack the quality to compete with Al Nassr and the Global Ones can win comfortably here. Joao Felix provides a serious goal-scoring threat and can fire Nassr to a King’s Cup triumph.
