Brighton vs Man United Predictions & Betting Tips - Draw Suits for Both Clubs in the Premier League

Brighton, unbeaten in 19 of their last 22 EPL home games, host a Manchester United team assured of third place. While Brighton must win to keep European hopes alive, United under new boss Carrick seem set to avoid defeat and maintain momentum. Both squads face some injuries, but key attackers will feature. Recent form and stats suggest a tight contest is likely, with a draw being the most probable outcome—potentially seeing both sides achieve their short-term goals.

  • Brighton are unbeaten in 19 of their last 22 EPL home games
  • Man United will finish 3rd on the table regardless of the result
  • I am expecting a close clash on the south coast

Brighton are favourites here but I don’t see Manchester United lying down on the south coast. Michael Carrick just signed a two-year contract and could be content to avoid defeat at a difficult venue.

Manchester United have a 22-10 lead against Brighton alongside five draws.

Brighton have Europe in Sight

Brighton have lost two of their last three matches but are still well placed to qualify for Europe. They had 68% possession at Newcastle where they suffered a deserved 3-1 defeat.

The Seagulls returned to the south coast with a 3-0 victory over Wolves. They enjoyed 72% of the ball, Jack Hinshelwood and Lewis Dunk scoring inside the opening five minutes.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side are coming off an unlucky 1-0 loss at Leeds. Brighton had 66% possession, 19-7 shots and 3.06-0.39 xG, conceding deep into added time.

Man United Menacing under Carrick

Manchester United have been on fire since Michael Carrick took over in January, climbing to third in the Premier League and earning a return to the Champions League.

The Red Devils recently won three straight matches before a 0-0 draw at Sunderland.

Man United had 29-11 shots and 4.57-1.89 xG in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes assisted Bryan Mbeumo, his 20th EPL assist of the campaign.

Carrick was rewarded with a two-year contract. He said: "From the moment that I arrived here 20 years ago, I felt the magic of Manchester United. Carrying the responsibility of leading our special football club fills me with immense pride."

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Brighton (4-2-3-1) Bart Verbruggen; Joel Veltman, Lewis Dunk, Jan Paul van Hecke, Maxim De Cuyper; Carlos Baleba, Pascal Gross; Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood, Yankuba Minteh; Danny Welbeck

Adam Webster, Stefanos Tzimas and Kaoru Mitoma are injured with Mats Wieffer doubtful.

Man United (4-2-3-1) Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo; Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha; Bryan Mbeumo

Matthijs de Ligt is recovering after back surgery and Benjamin Sesko is battling a calf injury.

Verdict

Manchester United have nothing to play for here but Michael Carrick will be desperate to avoid defeat after signing a new deal. Brighton could be satisfied with a draw here which should be enough to qualify for European football.
