H2H

Aston Villa have a 23-19 advantage against Crystal Palace, alongside 16 draws.

Crystal Palace Out of Form

Crystal Palace are the most out-of-form team in the Premier League, taking one point from their last five games.

Palace’s drop off in form started with a 3-0 home loss to Man City. Defeats against Leeds 4-1 and Tottenham 1-0 and a 1-1 draw with Fulham followed.

Oliver Glasner’s outfit lost a fourth game in five on Sunday after a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle. The Eagles allowed 2.08 XG, had one shot on target and conceded twice in the second period.

Aston Villa Look Confident

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are third in the Premier League and six points behind Arsenal. Villa are the league’s most in-form team, taking 27 points from their last 30 available.

The Midlands side were on an 11-match winning streak in all competitions, including five consecutive away victories. That run ended with a 4-1 loss at Arsenal.

The Villans replied with a 3-1 home triumph against Nottingham Forest. Villa had 1.59 XG and Ollie Watkins and John McGinn scored.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Dean Henderson; Jaydee Canvot, Maxence Lacroix, Marc Guehi; Justin Devenny, Adam Wharton, Will Hughes, Tyrick Mitchell; Brennan Johnson, Yeremy Pino; Jean-Philippe Mateta

Forward Ismaila Sarr is on AFCON duty. Defenders Daniel Munoz and Chadi Riad, forward Eddie Nketiah and midfielders Daichi Kamada and Cheick Doucoure are injured.

Defenders Chris Richards and Nathaniel Clyne are also injury doubts for the Villa game. Oliver Glasner provided an update on Clyne after the Newcastle game and said, “We made a concussion sub in the first half, and made another substitution straight after HT due to injury problems with Clyney. He said that he feels his hip and groin. I saw him limping. That's why we subbed him.”

Aston Villa (4-3-2-1): Emiliano Martinez; Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Victor Lindelof, Ian Maatsen; Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans; John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia, Morgan Rogers; Ollie Watkins

Attacker Evann Guessand is on international duty and unavailable.

Defensive pair Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres and midfielders Ross Barkley and Amadou Onana are ruled out due to injury.

Verdict

Crystal Palace are conceding goals, struggling to score and look fatigued. Aston Villa are confident and can keep challenging at the top of the Premier League with an away win.
